Tarot Cards Part 3

Sharing is caring!

Continuing our research into Tarot Cards and the impact they can have on personal growth. This is part 3 in this series If you haven’t done so already, read Tarot Cards Part 1 & 2 .

Types of readings:

  • Spreads: A spread is a specific arrangement of cards that is used to answer a particular question or explore a specific topic. There are many different spreads that can be used, each with its own unique meaning. For example, the three-card spread is a simple spread that can be used to explore a past, present, and future perspective on a situation.
  • Open readings: An open reading is a more general reading that allows the cards to speak to the reader without a specific question in mind. This type of reading can be used to gain insight into one’s life and explore the possibilities that are available to them.
  • One-card readings: A one-card reading is a simple way to get quick and specific guidance on a question or situation.
  • Journaling: Some people use tarot cards as a tool for self-reflection and journaling. They may choose a card each day and use it as a prompt for writing about their thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
  • Mediation: Tarot cards can be used as a tool for meditation and self-reflection. By focusing on the imagery and symbolism of the cards, one can gain a deeper understanding of themselves and their experiences.

Regardless of the method used, it’s important to remember that the tarot is a tool for self-discovery and personal growth, and that the meaning of the cards can vary depending on the context of the reading and the reader’s own interpretation. It’s important to keep an open mind and not to take the readings too literally.

Reviewing the basics: What we’ve learned

  • Tarot cards are not meant to predict the future, but rather to provide insight, guidance, and reflection on the present situation and your thoughts, feelings, and actions. As we’ve learned so far they have both a traditional and a reversed meaning, and the interpretation of a card may change depending on the spread, the question asked, and the context of the reading.
  • Have a clear intention and question in mind when doing a tarot reading, as this will help you focus and clarify your thoughts and feelings.
  • Tarot cards should be treated with respect, and it’s important to create a peaceful and safe space for the reading. You can also cleanse your deck before using it to ensure that it is free from any negative energy or influences.
  • There are many different spreads (arrangements of tarot cards) that you can use for a reading, and each spread has its own unique purpose and interpretation.
  • Learning the tarot takes time, patience, and practice, and it’s important to study the symbolism, meanings, and interpretations of each card.
  • Finally, it’s important to trust your intuition and inner guidance when interpreting the cards, and to remember that the tarot is a tool for self-discovery, not a set of absolute answers or predictions.
