Hi, I’m Joanna — an instructional designer, researcher, and lifelong educator with over 10 years of experience helping adult learners succeed.

I specialize in designing flexible, learner-centered content that blends strategy with creativity. My work is rooted in instructional design principles like cognitive load theory, active learning, and accessibility—but I also believe that effective learning should be visually engaging, emotionally intelligent, and just a little bit magical.

Why is my website named Joanna “Arcana”? Because I love investigating new things and the name Arcana reflects my approach: uncovering the “hidden knowledge” behind how people learn and connect.

I recently completed my Master of Education in Learning & Instructional Design, where I conducted original research on instructional quality and engagement in YouTube-based adult learning content. I’ve also developed onboarding programs from scratch, facilitated national webinars, and supported thousands of learners as a manager, coach, and educator.

This site is my evolving portfolio, showcasing professional projects, original graphics, and learning tools I’ve built using platforms like Articulate, Canva, and Camtasia. Every piece here was created—or drawn—by me (even this self hosted website!)

Thanks for visiting! Feel free to explore, connect, or get in touch.
